Suicide First Aid®: Lite

Course Overview

Suicide First Aid®: Lite, delivered in association with the National Centre for Suicide Prevention Education and Training (NCSPET) and accredited by City and Guilds of London, is a trauma-informed suicide prevention awareness programme, designed to teach delegates the theory, and practice, of suicide intervention skills so that they have the confidence to intervene when there is a risk of suicide. The training is delivered by experienced suicide prevention trainers who provide delegates with the knowledge, tools and some basic skills to help someone who is experiencing thoughts of suicide so that they can be safe from their thoughts and stay alive.

Suicide First Aid®: Lite training offers learning outcomes that are knowledge-based and factual. This training can be used as a stand-alone programme or as the first part of a journey to learn suicide prevention skills.

  • Have an increased confidence in suicide awareness
  • Recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide
  • Help others feel safe from their thoughts and behaviour
  • Apply suicide prevention skills to help someone at risk of suicide
  • Be able to refer a person onto suicide first aiders
