Facilitating learning is an approach often described as the microwave approach to learning, where the pupil learns from the inside out, unlike conventional training where the pupil learns from the outside in. Each has their place, but a facilitated style of teaching is one that encourages ownership through involvement, and allows the learner to explore topics fully and share their experiences to help the group achieve their course objectives.
Facilitators create and nurture open and trusting learning environments. This enables them to help learners question, value and adopt the attitudes and values appropriate to their work. They work tirelessly to help their delegates achieve their stated objectives, and are able to adapt the content and style to suit the group and the objectives.
The GBS Facilitation Skills for Trainers course has been designed for trainers with some experience, who are ready to extend their skill set and expertise to become training facilitators.
Please note, this course can be delivered as virtual instructor led training (VILT), face to face, or it can be delivered with a blend of both formats. We will customise the content and duration in line with your learning and development requirements.
