Suicide First Aid Training Courses

Encouraging organisations to prioritise mental health in the workplace is our mission and our suite of topics supports employees in different areas of wellbeing. In addition to our Mental Health First Aid training, we offer Suicide First Aid® in association with the National Centre for Suicide Prevention Education and Training (NCSPET) and accredited by City and Guilds of London.

What is Suicide First Aid®?

Suicide First Aid® are training courses designed to provide delegates with the confidence to intervene when there is a risk of suicide. The skills gained can be applied in any professional or personal setting and the trauma-informed training is for anyone who seeks a greater understanding of suicide so that they are able to competently intervene.

Why become trained in Suicide First Aid®?

1 in 20 people experience thoughts of suicide and with the stigma surrounding it still present, people often do not feel able to talk about it in the workplace. Suicide First Aid® gives learners the knowledge to understand that suicide is a preventable death and provides the basic skills to intervene so that they can help someone who is experiencing thoughts of suicide to keep them safe from their thoughts and stay alive.

Who delivers Suicide First Aid®?

Our specialist team of Suicide First Aid® trainers are approved by NCSPET and have the specific experience and qualifications to guide learners through this unique learning experience so that they are able to create suicide-safety as a first aid approach.

What training options are available?

We have two Suicide First Aid® training options:

Suicide First Aid®: Lite - A four-hour suicide prevention awareness programme designed to teach delegates the basics of suicide intervention skills so that they have the confidence to intervene when there is a risk of suicide
Suicide First Aid®: Understanding Suicide Intervention (SFA USI) - A one-day programme that provides the knowledge needed to identify someone who may be thinking about suicide and competently intervene to help create suicide safety as a first aid approach

Training can be delivered in-house, virtually, or with a blend of both formats. Should there be an increased interest in any of these topics, we are also able to arrange training virtually as an open, public event for individuals to attend.
