Being a good negotiator is an essential skill for many in business, and is not, as often thought, simply something that the sales team must be good at. You need to be able to negotiate in almost every job, whether it’s trying to get a cheaper price from a supplier, win a bigger deal from a client, and encourage someone to pay upfront or perhaps simply negotiate better terms and conditions for your team with your boss.
Being a successful negotiator is at many levels a winning difference skill, and those who are good at it command the respect of their peers and colleagues.
Negotiating skills are so much more than simply getting your own way. Negotiating isn’t just about getting the best deal from a supplier or customer. It is used in a variety of settings and can have various consequences. To negotiate effectively you must be able to influence the other person, persuading them without the power of status or hierarchy.
Negotiation, whether formal or informal, should be approached with the attitude that the outcome will be beneficial to both parties and preserve the relationship for the future.
This course has been designed for anyone who needs to negotiate effectively with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
Please note, this course can be delivered as virtual instructor led training (VILT), face to face, or it can be delivered with a blend of both formats. We will customise the content and duration in line with your learning and development requirements.
